An Alternative To Zinc

Zinc roofs and Zinc cladding is beautiful, stylish, hard wearing and can be used on the whole building envelope. So why doesnt everyone use it? ……….

Because its so very expensive at about £220 per meter squared its pricey but it is a superior material and looks fantastic.

There is another alternative, which has an almost identical profile appearance and is equally as hardwearing and costs ony aproxinmaley £45 per meter squared.

After going on Tata’s free 1 day intaller course for the Colourcoat Urban® I was really impressed with this product so I thought I would talk about it!

Tata steel have used 40 years experience to develop the Colourcoat Urban® cladding and roofing system. It’s designed to perform the same as zinc but uses a pre-formed panel rather than a rolled on site panel, which can be installed quickly and easily by a competent builder, this quick fit system can be installed vertically or on roofs with a pitch down to 5 degrees (perfect for garden rooms).

It has all the profiles available to allow installation around square and round penetrations such as roof lights and chimneys or flues and it comes in a range of 8 colours which are designed to blend in with surrounding landscapes and also complement the natural environment. It’s also compatible with rainwater harvesting systems and has a British Building Association product certificate of 40 years. It’s a fantastic alternative to zinc and gives lots of options to really personalise your garden room or small building.
